Open Source CMS
I have implemented a number of corporate Internet and Intranet site using Lotus base content management system (CMS) and WebSphere Content Management System. Lotus and WebSphere Portal provides much more than just CMS. Those CMS solutions fits well for companies that already have Lotus/Websphere infrastructure ready or are looking for an all round solution.
What about company that just need a website? A static website is the easiest type of website to set up, but making changes may require web programming knowledge. If the company have “limited” budget, open source CMS is a solution that they can look at. CMS provides an easier platform for the end users to manage the content on the website.
Joomla is a free, open-source CMS.
Joomla is an award-winning content management system (CMS), which enables you to build Web sites and powerful online applications. Many aspects, including its ease-of-use and extensibility, have made Joomla the most popular Web site software available. Best of all, Joomla is an open source solution that is freely available to everyone.

For Lotus or Java developer, PHP is a relatively easy language to pick up. Thus the basic Joomla setup have an easy learning curve. Besides that, Joomla have a vast number of commercial and non-commercial extensions. This provides a easy way to add in features and functions into the website.
